Rules

General Rules

• It is your responsibility to remain informed of any rule changes listed here or in Discord.
• Do not influence others to break rules, you will receive a similar punishment.
• Do not use any real-life events in the city. No suicide RP, real-life terrorism threats, pandemics or mental illnesses, not limited to these examples.
• No racism, trolling, homophobia and sexism.
• Do not perform rape, erotic, mutilation, or any other extreme roleplay variation. In addition, do not perform detailed acts of torture, dismemberment, cannibalism, or other highly graphic activities.
• Treat every person with respect, Everyone is equal.
• You must have a working, clear microphone. Failing to do so may result in a kick or ban.
• Using derogatory terms such as, but not limited to the word “retard”, is a bannable offense.
• Attacking members in other Discord servers, YouTube, Twitter, etc. is prohibited and punishable.
• You cannot play OOC content, such as RP montages and Twitch streams, on the in-game TVs.
• You may not steal a wheelchair from any other player.
• No GTA Driving, Keep it realistic. Stop at stop lights, Go the speed limit most the time unless doing crime, Don't constantly run from police, give them proper scenes. You ain't always going to get a W.
• Common courtesy - Please keep in mind, this is a game, that people from all over the world play. There will be headaches, there will be lag situations, and more. At the end of the day we are all here to have fun.
• Basic Decency & Respect
  • While our goal is to foster a roleplaying experience free from constraints, We realize we must protect all members of our community regardless of gender, sexual orientation, age, etc. We strive to create a welcoming, friendly, and peaceful atmosphere for all members. A community that members can be proud to say they are a part of. Sanctum RP takes a hard stance against any derogatory terms or actions against its members. We will enforce a strict code of conduct within our community and act on distasteful items, for example, and not limited to Sexual Harassment, Excessive Name-Calling And/Or Shaming, Disrespectful Attacks on a Personal Level, etc.
  • At the end of the day, we are all here to enjoy a world outside of the one we live in. We are here to escape to a world where we can create a new life with amazing experiences. Simply put, respect one another. Have justification and reasoning for your actions. Simply saying "It's My Character" will result in being banned without question. It's not a valid response.

Ban Process

Ban duration is at the discretion of the staff members, generally speaking, the process for a ban is as follows:

Generally speaking each person gets 3 warnings, then offenses start. It's up to each staff's desecration

• 1st Offense = Warning & Kick
• 2nd Offense = 1-Hour Ban
• 3rd Offense = 1-Day Ban
• 4th Offense = 2-Day Ban
• 5th Offense = Permanent Ban

• More severe offenses can result in a permanent ban and deletion of character data. Examples of these may include hacking, exploiting, toxic behavior, abusive/malicious behavior, and mass VDM or RDM.

Communication

• Basic Procedures

  • Refusal to communicate with other players in English only will result in a ban.
  • Players are allowed to speak to each other in another language through personal messages or in other personal, non-public spaces.
  • Any kind of advertising of other GTA V communities or cyber threats is forbidden on all servers and channels. Malicious advertisements or cyber threats aimed at hurting the community will result in a permanent ban.
  • Do not spam identical or meaningless messages multiple times, including /me, do not spam server commands multiple times, and do not spam game-unrelated irritating sounds using voice chat.
  • In-character offensive language and threats are allowed, however, insulting another character gives them a roleplay reason to take hostile action against your character. Racism/Sexual/Transphobia harassment is not allowed in character or outside character.
  • Any kind of out-of-character offensive language, threats, transphobia or racism is prohibited. You cannot make death threats to living people, death threats aimed at living people will result in much harsher punishments.
  • Excessively screaming swear words at people or a person is not tolerated.
  • The use of voice/mic changers is allowed, as long as they are high quality and don't ruin the experience.
  • A staff member has the right to request any player to stop offending another person if the staff member think's that the in-character exception for offensive language is being abused in any sort of way.
  • Don't use /me & /do to communicate with others, that is what a /says is used for. If seen doing so, there will be only one warning.
  • You can not lie through a /me & /do whatsoever. If your character is trying to lie, state that.
  • The use of /says is not to be used for laziness to not talk. You must be vocal unless your character has a known backstory or a major event resulting in the inability to speak.
  • The use of /says should not be used to alert cops/players in an area if you are for example being kidnapped

• Out Of Character

  • OOC talk can be done in Discord and is prohibited while in the city.
  • Do not use any immersion-breaking words, like "My Computer", "Pressed The Wrong Key", "My Mic Is Bugging Out", or "I have a body cam of it (When you are a civ without a body cam..)"
  • You are not allowed to mention other "cities/counties" under any circumstance.
  • Referring to other characters, whether it be your character or not, as "cousins, alter ego, brother, etc" is never allowed.
  • Talking "spiritually" makes no sense and is a form of OOC terminology.
  • Never mention the server rules in character.
  • You WILL see popular streamers on the server, and under no circumstances should you ever come into the city looking for that person, and addressing them by an OOC name. You will be instantly banned without question.
  • Please keep the flow of roleplay going, if any sort of bug happens ( Robbery script bugging out, cars being "ghosted" or going into tornado mode, saying a script is "scuffed"), simply report it afterward. keep the scene going, and find ways around it.
  • Using words such as "weird" or "strange" to describe someone's poor quality of roleplay is not allowed, help them out, in an OOC channel.
  • In-character beef stays IN CHARACTER. If seen beefing outside of the city, actions will be enforced.

• Reports

  • Players should use the Discord ticketing system to report players, whether it be a past or present incident.
  • All necessary information, evidence, videos, or screenshots must be given with the report.
  • Please allow up to a week for your report to be processed, though usual turnaround times are around 24 hours.
  • If a player thinks that a staff member is abusing their powers, the player can submit a staff report using the Discord Ticket system.
  • Staff members may request all players to halt an ongoing scene if the roleplay situation breaks any of the server rules. This will be done via a Discord Ticket with everyone added to the ticket.
  • Personally messaging a staff member will not result in a satisfactory response, you may be ignored or forwarded to a ticket.

Account & Donations

• Accounts & Characters

  • Anything that occurs on your account is your responsibility.
  • Should you lose access to your Discord/CFX/Steam/Rockstar account, we are not able to transfer the Whitelist status to another discord.
  • It is prohibited to buy or sell any account and/or items from another user other than the official donation packages.
  • Players are not allowed to create new characters with the intent to transfer the starter money over to another character. All involved players or parties breaking this rule will have their money revoked from them and be banned. You are also not allowed to transfer any assets your character has to any other character for any reason.
  • Police, DOC, EMS, Doctors, Fire, and any other government official are not allowed to be corrupt. An example of such would be giving away or selling government-only equipment.
  • Make sure you separate your characters. They do not know each other, they do not know where your weed location is, or who your friends/enemies are. etc. Other characters you create are not your "cousin". They can't ever meet up, so that is extremely unrealistic.
  • Anything in Discord that starts with IC- is in character. I.e #ic-content & #ic-story-continuation
  • You are not allowed to have multiple characters that are affiliated with the same circle/gang. You must separate your rp.
  • If a player has a camera of any sort on their character, they can use recordings as legal evidence, otherwise, they cannot.
  • Serial Killers/Robots/Paranormal Characters, etc.. must be approved by the staff team via a Discord ticket. This soft-whitelist is in place to ensure quality roleplay, and to improve pacing with these types of storylines. This does not apply to normal shootings, kidnappings etc, but is specific to serial killer characters who go after locals, or regular players.
  • Indicating that you have no pulse three or more times, will result in the permanent death of your character.

• Donations

  • All donations/purchases are permanent and non-refundable
  • All purchases/donations are tied to your account and you will be asked what character you want the donation perks to. You cannot change your mind in the future once they are given or transfer to another character after.
  • In a situation where a buyer is banned for violating the server rules, any purchases made by the buyer will not be refunded, remember that buyers are held responsible for their actions, just as any other player.
  • In the instance of a chargeback, you will not be allowed to appeal any bans resulting from violating server rules.

Cheating & Exploiting

• It's strictly prohibited to use any game modifications and enhancements that can give a player an unfair advantage, such as a duplication glitch, an increase of speed using a specific walk style, night visual packs, health regen, teleport glitches, any 3rd party software ( Including but not limited to an external crosshair, cheats, mod menus, macros, etc.. )
• Exploiting emotes to get through walls will get you banned without question.
• Macroing is the act of using third-party software or hardware enhancements that enable the player to perform automated actions. Macroing to perform activities for a financial benefit or to circumvent the AFK script is a bannable offense. All property and experience gained through macroing will be revoked
• Exploiting client and/or server bugs is strictly prohibited. Abusing an exploit will result in a ban. Anything gained from an exploit will also be removed.
• All bugs must be reported on Discord via a Ticket!
• Abuse of game physics is not allowed. Including but not limited to, Bunny hopping, Spam punching, Combat rolling, Abuse of job powers, Speed boosting, and emote exploiting.

Private Discord

• All Sanctum RP related discords featuring in-characters' channels must follow all the rules and guidelines stated here.
• Business discord's must send their link in a ticket to get added to the service directory
• Gangs with discords must give their invite links to the faction manager
• All Sanctum RP staff Moderators and above, must have access to ban, kick, timeout, etc. In all discords. ( refusal will Affect your business or gang )
• Any Discord related to Sanctum RP with over 100 members must be owned by a Sanctum RP Admin+
• You cannot remove a staff member from a Sanctum RP related discord via kick or ban. ( Unless Owners states other wise )
• You must be able to provide proper and full screenshots of discord conversations if staff is to request for them as evidence for a report/ticket.

Roleplay Rules

• Quality

  • Please refrain from playing "money simulator". This can also come in the form of not interacting with other individuals and prioritizing monetary gains rather than interactions
  • Cop baiting is a great form of LQRP. This is where you purposefully attempt to bait Police Officers into a scenario without any RP behind it. Ex. Hitting a cop car to have them chase you to an ambush.
  • Refusing to respond to EMS may result in a kick from the server.
  • Strictly no salty and toxic behavior. Examples include repeated mag dumping into a downed body, playing loud music, screaming over the microphone, spitting and emoting on downed bodies, "Spinning till they don't wake up" and Twitter drama.
  • No hospital camping to rub salt in the wounds if you win or lose a fight.
  • Scenes are to be used to enhance RP by giving context to a scene, not to paint "PDk" everywhere!
  • Criminals must provide proper reasoning during initiation before shooting police officers, especially during mag dump season.
  • Randomly blowing up vehicles is prohibited without proper initiation.
  • Players can be identified by their face, outfit, or individual clothing items up to 24 hours after a crime or other event. Stripping off clothing items after a crime or other interaction can still warrant a detainment by Police for questioning if they have probable cause or reasonable suspicion that you were involved in a crime or other event. We recommend changing your entire outfit before and after a crime and refraining from wearing gang colors during a crime as that would implicate the entire group.
  • Do not impersonate law enforcement officers or medical staff. It is strictly prohibited. Please do not wear any clothing items that belong to police or medical staff unless your job permits it.
  • Do not kidnap, rob, or assault EMS or medical staff for any reason.
  • Hostages cannot be friends, associates or imaginary.
  • Gun Play over Role Play is not allowed in any form.

  • Value of Life

    • Description: You must value your life similar to the way you do your own life in real life. For example, you must not engage in a gunfight for the fun of it, knowing that you would not do it IRL. At all times you must value your life as if it were your last. If you are at a clear disadvantage, for example, a gun pointed at the back of your head whilst you are looking in the other direction, you must comply with their demands.
    • If you are outnumbered 3 to 1 you must comply. This does not mean that you do not have the option to try and escape. When possible and in a correction situation, you have the option to try and escape.
    • A bad example of an attempt to escape is if are being held hostage in front of a bank and decide to run away even though the person has a firearm ready.

  • LQRP/FRP Examples

    • Spectating any shootout
    • Dropping items while being cuffed/arrested
    • Robbing someone without reason or sufficient roleplay ( Broad daylight while others are around )
    • Using the same shootout location in a short amount of time
    • Failing to respond to /me, /do, /says interactions of other players, such as /me takes off mask or /me steals shoes
    • Actions that are unrealistic or hurt the roleplay experience of others players are considered as fail roleplay, however, not all actions that may seem unrealistic or punishable
    • Taking an enemy vehicle and stripping the upgrades off of it to scam someone
    • Talking normally after you have any type of inflicted wound. You should be screaming in pain for example if you get shot.
    • Using a tazer to pop a tire of a vehicle, Spam tackling people over and over
    • Walking up to staff and asking about tickets made in discord, while being in city.

• Off-Limits Areas

  • Fort Zancudo & Aircraft carriers are off-limits, anyone caught violating this rule will be shot on sight. You would not have access to this place in real life, as it's a highly secured area.

• Character Customization

  • Players must create a realistic human character using the customization system.
  • Do not dress your character to resemble an alien or animal.
  • Nude models or portions of models are prohibited in public areas and can only be used at private vents or locations.
  • Do not make parts of your body invisible or intentionally glitched.
  • Character names add a level of immersion and must avoid being disruptive. Examples of command-inappropriate or disruptive RP names include but are not limited to:
    • Names that reference known people, characters, brands, places, or icons.
    • Names that reference slang terms, offensive language, or are just unoriginal.
    • Names that consist of multiple words
  • Do not play as a vigilante. You cannot be Batman, Spider-Man, John Wick, Jason Bourne, Daredevil, etc.

• New Life Rule (NLR)

  • New Life Rule: Triggered once you are incapacitated and respawn at the hospital. The cause of death is irrelevant, Getting yourself downed is not considered as dying, therefore once you get treaded by EMS, the new life rule is not triggered. You lose all memory from the scenario if you respawn by using "E"
  • After you are incapacitated, not downed, you cannot talk about your death through in-character channels unless an individual/party informs you through RP. ( Make sure to have it clipped. )
  • Once a player becomes incapacitated, they cannot come back to the area of their death for 30 minutes, and they cannot take hostile action against the party responsible for their death for 60 minutes. They also lose every rp reason to take hostile action against the party responsible for their death.
  • If you leave a scenario, and it has ended, then you are not allowed to return to the area of the scene to collect evidence, loot bodies, etc.
  • Another player is not able to decide when another pk's their character, this is decided upon OOC and once agreed they can commence with the scenario. You are allowed to plan out a scenario OOC if you decide on permaing your character. Your character can not just randomly be deleted without reasoning.

• Deathmatching (RDM/VDM)

  • Random Deathmatch (RDM)
    • RDM is not allowed by any means, In short, RDM is the act of killing or hurting another player or damaging their property intentionally by the use of any force without having a valid in-character reason to do that.
    • You are allowed to attack another player if they try to hurt you or damage your property intentionally, if they ignore your threats and attempt to resist or if they try to take hostile action against you.
    • All deadly actions need to be slowly done, after some time after the initial start of the scene.
    • Deadly actions have to be roleplayed out, there is no such thing as Killing on-site, it's seen as a form of RDM.
    • You MUST initiate proper roleplay for every kill.
    • Examples: 1) Someone talked trash towards you, so you withdraw a firearm and shoot them. That is RDM. 2) You provoke a fist fight then proceed to pull out a firearm and kill the person you provoked
  • Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM)
    • VDM: The act of killing, hurting another player or damaging their property intentionally by using a vehicle without having a valid in-character reason to do that. Intentionally running over another individual with a valid in-character reason can still be considered LQRP.
    • Examples: 1) Someone insulted you, so you ran them over 2) Someone accidentally hit your car, so you ram them with your vehicle multiple times 3) Someone robbed you beforehand, so you ram their vehicle to stop them and force them out of it.

  • Metagaming, Powergaming, Torture RP

    • This is when you use real-life information gained from outside the bounds of the game to benefit your character's knowledge in-game, even though they would not have known this information. For example, watching a stream to find someone’s location to use for your benefit.
    • Metagaming to gain an in-game advantage, for example, requesting help from your allies through out-of-character channels, will result in more severe punishments, than accidental metagaming, that serves no benefit to the player, such as calling a stranger by his character name.
    • Whilst you are in the city, under no circumstances, are you allowed to be in a live stream (such as, but not limited to, Discord, Twitch, Facebook Gaming & Youtube) of someone else who is also in the city.
    • Use of third-party VOIP is strictly prohibited while you are connected to the server. (Skype, Discord, Zoom, etc.)
    • Demanding someone to withdraw money from their bank account via an ATM, bank or phone is not allowed.
    • Powergaming: Roleplaying with mechanics/abilities that do not exist or forcing someone else into a situation where they do not have choices.
    • Forcing someone to use a crafting/buy station is considered powergaming
    • Use of vehicles with unbreakable windows, extremely small windows, covered fronts, or provide an advantage in shootouts can not be used for criminal activity.
    • Roleplaying something unrealistically ridiculous or forcing roleplay actions on other players by using the /me command or even forcing players to do a emote is not allowed and is classed as power gaming.
    • You must never spam the attacking/melee button on someone.
    • Using a vehicle to flip over another vehicle.
    • Do not spike strip within the immediate area of a robbery.
    • Do not chain rob stores, banks, ATMs, or any other property and device.
    • Do not elude police on a motorcycle or off-road unless agreed upon by all parties.
    • Do not drive off-road only vehicles on paved roadways unless driving to park at a nearby garage after purchase. Do not drive drag vehicles on the road, without expecting them to be auctioned off by the police.
    • Unnecessarily escorting, cuffing, or carrying someone. This includes doing these to gain an advantage over someone who is not in the downed state.
    • Putting a stash or other furniture outside the shell of a player-owned property so it is no longer visible is not allowed.
    • Using /me to force RP in your favor rather than leaving it open-ended for all parties involved.
    • Torture RP - You must receive consent from the other party that you are torturing through a /ooc to ensure they are ok with the actions happening to their character. If the player you are torturing responds with /ooc Not ok with that etc. you must attempt to end the scenario promptly without pursuing more torture RP.
    • Under no circumstances can a criminal force his victim to sell his property, such as houses, vehicles or businesses. Unless it's an approved scene by staff.
